Do you use Carbon all the time??

I have a lot of bog wood in my tanks and if i didn't have carbon the water would be stained so it keeps the water clear.

I also have a lot of bogwood, and I don't use Carbon but my tanks aren't stained. Once the tanins have leached out of the wood, they won't stain your water any more!

I sort of agree with you but bogwood will always stain the water to some degree. If you put your tank beside a tank with no bogwood i bet the difference would be noticeable.

I'll concede on that one as all 3 of my tanks have bogwood so I have no comparison !!
I never notice any colouring though!

i use it only when i really need too. waste of money otherwise imo.
