i think that would be a perfectly reasonable collection , but ideally id like to go even bigger

Honestly, i don't think theres anything wrong or unreasonable about your requests. I was always brought up "To aim big" haha

I have my 180L and 70L in my room. I sleep fine, but my missus doesnt like the fish watching her haha. There is nothing wrong with being ambitious. Atleast if you outline your ultimate intentions early on and they actually DO happen they can't complain. For the simple fact you warned them in advance

Have you concidered asking your local sealife centre or zoo (one with aquaria centre) if you can move in? I'd LOVE to work at Chester Zoo, i would be the most enthusiastic (or one of) employees working in there.

I don't think that's unreasonable at all (but then, I'm single and can have as many tanks as I like, where I like!)

Mind you, I bet there'd still be things you'd like that you wouldn't have room for; a friend of mine once said that you could give most fishkeepers the Atlantic ocean and we'd still run out of room

The Atlantic ocean is all well and good, however its salty and thus no interest or benefit to me haha. I prefere the tropical side of the hobby. As beautifull as the salty side is, and i do love snorkling on holiday, its just not for me hobby wise.

And yes i know its metaphorically speaking

being in a relatioship isnt the obsticle lol its space. if i had the space and the money id just go ahead and do it anyway .

I've converted my missus to the hobby, so i'm ok. However space is the limiting factor for sure, unfortunately.
