Do Two 8W Bulbs Equal 16W?

As title really, meant for marine but i thought it would get more answers in this section.

My gut instinct is that no it would only be 8W, but i thought i would ask just incase...

Yes, Two 8W Bulbs Equals 16W of light, or at least thats how I have been working out my light output.

Watts is the amout of power a bulb uses.
Lumans = the amount of light produced.

In my view 2 8w bulbs will use 16watts of power. But still only produce the same amount of light.

WPG is the source used to grow plants though. Yes it'll be 16 watts.
 
Yes, 2 8w bulbs will produce roughly the same amount of light (lumens, par, etc.) as 1 16w light, at least if we're comparing the same technology. Yes, they will use roughly the same amount of power.

No, 16w of power consumption will never equal 16w of light production, as a part of the energy used is put out as heat.
