This is really for my mbuna tank, where I add baking soda and epsom salt every week during the water change to keep the pH, GH and KH at desirable levels. (My natural tap water numbers are pretty soft).

pH is at 8.0, GH is around 8, KH is also around 8.

I've always had some java ferns in there, which are doing fine, and I thought about adding some more (larger ones). Would they start to consume any of my buffering chemicals?

Appreciate some feedback. ;)
