Do Guppies Need Lighting?

How much lighting do guppies need in order to breed? I'm aware that most things are done in the dark, but still.

So long as they can physically see each other i wouldn't worry about light levels. Guppies are easy to breed really. The hard part is getting them to stop!

Whilst LOLing at Nick's comment, in general, the fish themselves do not need any artificial lighting, they are quite able to sort themselves out, as it were, just by the ambient light from your room.
 
They don't really need much assistance.
