I am just wondering, if a fish bit another fish on the face or the side, would it heal eventually...?
I was at my cousins and saw one of his pearl gourami's gill areas a bit nicked and his top of the mouth quite ugly because it has been bitten off or bitten...lol

Thanks!

yes fish heal, quite fast too :good:
just make sure the waters clean to avoid infection
welcome to TFF

thx for the reply and thx for noticing i am new hahaha
i have taken up having fishies again, and i wish to take it up as a good hobby
too bad no money to invest in hahaa

it sounds like your cousin should seperate the fish if bad damage is being done
what other fish are with the gourami?

haha he only has 2 pearl gourami and one of those garbage eaters...they have a big name starts with p :P

Yes. Fish heal very quickly. I had 2 pirahanas and one bit the other ones side and bit his tail off. I put the sick one in his own tank and within 3 weeks he's better (small scar on his side but healed)

okay so the two pearl gouramis also havent been eating for a while now
but today he said that one of them started eating again, and the pearl gourami with the broken-like mouth (u can see down the fish's mouth...scary and his jaw) is still not eating and he often gasps for air and also chases and bites at the other gourami (smaller one chase bigger one and he doesnt eat food he chases)!!

anyone opinions?

it wont be able to eat if its jaw is broken
it sounds like its in a very bad way to me
maybe he should think about putting it down

well actually the part of its upper lips between its eyes is missing
it has the lower jaw but not a lot inbetween its eyes
so the upper lip part is gone :/
