Curious here. I'm in the process of moving and two of my bettas are in my kids' bedrooms and the tanks will be moved last, so the bettas won't see outside activity for a few weeks. Do bettas get "depressed" if they don't have humans hanging out with them? lol I feel kind of guilty that they're not getting attention like they normally do (just doing feedings and water changes during the transition).

If they have enough plants and hides they should be fine. They like human attention but I doubt they'd get depressed.

No they don't 'need', they may 'want', which are two different things. Don't forget fish are still wild animals, they wouldn't come into contact with humans in the wild.

As long as there is enough for them in the tank and they get fed, they'd be happy as a pig in poop

If you want interaction for them, once in a while you can feed them live foods. :) So they can explore and hunt.
