ive tried these foods and even prawns and live foods all the other discus are luvin it , and nuffin, if any thing the fish swims away from the food, not sure weather to quarantine the fish as it still swims and hangs out with the other lepard disus fish which it has done from day one,

the only thing one the fish that has changed is the discus eye have changed colour from red to a orange colour?? just dont seem intrested in food and dont follow me around the tank either like the other discus fish do....

I would quarantine for a while in a bare bottom tank, subdued lighting and some live, washed bloodworm that has been soaked in garlic juice. The reason for the garlic is that it contains when first crushed Allacin, which is an antibacteria and will help fight of internal bacterial problems. After they have been soaking for a few minutes put them in the tank and see if he eats them. I would watch carefully over the next couple of hours and if no improvement maybe some Anti-Internal meds would be considered (Interpet No.9). THIS is only if there is no interest in the food.

i was goin to get that interpet no:9 today actually ... but was goin to use it it the main tank
the misses has some garlic ill try it now ..

Good plan, i have found that No.9 affects my ammonia reading so i never put it in the main tank. The garlic in the main tank wont affect it though. You just need to make sure the other discus dont eat it all, kinda defeats the point of the exercise.

angel mouse sorry for the thread hijack....
how do you use your ro water ie where from etc

fish still not eating after second dose of no:9 interpet...

still looks ok its been over a week now ...

quick pic still looks fine its the one on the left thats the beefheart with garlic juice mix there getting fed

i bought a r/o unit from ro-man online and have it plumbed in my garage, but if buying one take note that they never produce as much water as they say they do. mine is a 50gal per day but only get 20gals from it, it trickles out but this is normal, needs good water pressure and needs to be a certain temp to get top output.
I've had problems with my 3 discus (luckily 2 are still in breeding tank) and i know its due to me loading extra fish in tank whilst moving some tanks around, but last night i removed all spare fish + afew others and done big waterchange and they are def happier.
Yours look ok have you tried him on some brineshrimp(live or freezedried) that usally temps them. Test your water for ph/nitrite/nitrate to be on safe side.
ps lovely looking fish
Regards Angel

thanks fish still not geting mind....
yeah tried live and frozen brimeshrimp ....

think i might try ro water, to see if that sparks off some breeding

just got back from weekend in windy stormy Newquay, i dread going away in case i come back to aquarium horrors, but all was fine and babys doing well. the parents laid more eggs but only afew hatched and the mum ate them again, i only seen to have sucess in main tank with full hatch rate if i pull them at last few hours to breeding tank, and mum is so busy defending them from other fish she forgets to eat them lol but they are still a young pair so still learning. Just tryed the babies on beefheart flake and they loved it, so do the parents
regards Angel
