Hey guys,

Here is my discus tank at the moment, just got 2 new baby's and a few blue rams!
Please offer any comments if you like :)
P.S. The photos are a bit scrappy and the tank's a bit filthy... I was just keen on getting some new photos up of my new fish.
I will put up some professional shots in the next day or so when I've cleaned the tank and have some good lighting.

Stock:
6 assorted Discus
5 Blue Rams
6 Rummynose Tetra
6 Cardinal Tetra
1 Bristlenose Pleco

I really like the scape very nice and natural looking but one thing is that Ocean Rock in there? That stuff will raise your ph and your discus will not like that.

Looks more like lava rocks which are fine.
Nice fish and moss.
I vote more plants :p

love the scape , really looks nice. will look impressive when the discus grow

Hey!

I have 7 lava rocks in the tank so they should be alright! I hope to get some more plants soon. The java moss has REALLY grown. I bought it as a fistful and now look at it!

Great tank. Looks really nice. I love the moss. How do you get it to grow in a carpet? Is it with a mesh backing?

Again, I really like the look of the tank, the fish standout amazingly.
:good:

Thanks for the comment. I bought a small handful of moss, and just attatched a couple of little clumps to the driftwood and in random areas of the tank. I had a lot of issues with it floating up...
However after laying it on the bed of the tank and simply sprinkling some of my substrate over it (stones) it eventually grew onto it. So if I pick up the java moss it will be attatched to heaps of stones which is holding it down / anchoring it. Worked out really well.

It's growing well it took about 6 months to grow from the clump to that much. I am hoping by the end of the year I will have the bottom of the tank nearly fully covered!

the tank looks fantastic
the effect you got with the java moss
looks absolutely amazing. really
sets the whole thing off its
given me some ideas about
the planted tank i am going
to start shortly :good:

I am going to hopefully get some new plants to fill in the background a little more...
Problem is my local stores don't have much in the way of plants, so I have to order them to my house without seeing them!
However, I will put photos up if I get some in the next week or so!

One of your discus looks a bit on the dark side mate. Love the tank tho, awesome.
