well just sharing some xperience! hope it will help! gud luck!! :D

Do you only have 2 discus in total NyaWie, or just 2 small ones?

If its 2 in total then you will get bullying unless they are a mated pair, and by the sounds of it one is young so that won't be the case. They need to be kept in groups of min 5-6. If you have a group of different size Discus this can also cause problems, but the bullying should be spread around to a certain extent.

Don't take this wrong way, but if you had researched the fish before buying them you would have known the above, and that they can be very sensitive.

yah ur ryt! :/

i was so xcited that day to hav them that cause me lack of information about this fishes!

yah they are only 2! and diff. sizes! men! i made a very big mistake! wah! :(

but im not giving up to this fishes!

hey guys, I get a helpful PM suggesting to remove the substrate (gravel in my case). Is this a good idea?? Also im not feeding pellets, im feeding flake, frozen brine, and forzen bloodworms. Most havn't touched anything.

Also guys, I have some good news and some bad news, I just fed my fish and 2 are eating. There are only 2 that are not eating. I did notice that the discus that were not eating had black freckles on their face. Is this normal or something to worry about???

Removing the gravel is a good idea to help you keep the tank really clean - that way it's easier to syphon any crud off the bottom. A lot of people raising discus do this. You might find it particularly useful as you've a heavily stocked tank.
4 discus isn't ideal number because they feel more comfy in a group, particularly as juvenilles, and also it helps spread any aggression out. However, unless you have enough space, and a quarantine tank, you might not find it beneficial to add more.
The black specs could be part of the colouration, if they are pigeon-blood based fish, which often develop "peppering". I'd be inclined to keep an eye on them for now, rather than medicate on the off-chance.
Keep feeding them the same foods as they were eating where you got them from. Remove any uneaten food promptly, or else you'll just end up with water problems.
Often they do take time to settle in. Once some are eating then they usually all will, EXCEPT if they are being bullied or picked on. However, as you don't have the space to add more with your current set up and all their tank mates, that would be difficult to solve.
You must keep the water as good as possible. This will also encourage them to eat more.

Removing the gravel is a great idea, but don't do it with the fish in the tank it will freak them out if they are not settled in. As annka5 some peppering is normal, though it can be a sign of stress if it comes and goes. I noticed you have ignored my water parameters question, you really need to think about them when keeping Discus.

The only reason I ignored it is becaues my master test kit is being shipped. I just bought one off ebay so it should be here soon. Also I will take a pic of the tank because I think I have enough room for 6.

Also if I bring 2 more discus in, how do I quarentine them?

you quartentine a fish by having it in another tank for a few weeks to make sure they are eating, get them used to the water, feeding and to stop diseases they may have getting into the tank, stopping them getting diseases by being stressed in a new environment with other fish.

how will a pick decide if you have enough room for more discus aswel?

:good:

48 inches in length, 22 inches tall, 12 inches wide.

To be quite honest, the tank is a little empty and just I wanted to just show you a layout with a pic. I dont have my camera by me anyways so that wont help.

you have to take into account that the fish will grow.

discus get pretty big and will soon fill that space.

I understand, I am completely thinking about making it a species tank. How long before they grow to adult size??

Hey guys, I got my master test kit in and here are my readings.

pH - 6.5
ammonia - 0
nitrite - 0

I dont completely understand how to do the GH test, if anyone knows pm me please or post here.
