Please tell us more about the tank and the fish.
What size of tank, how old, what filtration etc. etc. and what kinds of fish, what numbers, and more.

Sorry for your losses. R.I.P.

How many gallons is the tank please?
How many fish and which type?
Can you post water stats please?
What is the make of the test kit you are using?
Do the fish show any symptoms before death?

Hi Thanks for the replies

API Freshwater master test kit
PH 7.6- high range 7.4-ammonia 0ppm-nitrate (no2) 0ppm-nitrate (no3) 0ppm
juwel lido 200 litres
15-20
guppies,platys,clowns,sharks,mollies,silver dollar,kisser fish,small cat fish

What is your tap nitrate reading. Do you have live plants in the tank?
What type of sharks?
How many fish of each type do you have?
How long did you climatise the new fish for?
What symptoms did they show before death.
Symptoms like turning up side down, darting, flicking and rubbing, cloudy film on fish, gasping, heavy breathing etc.

the tank is approx 2 months old,i use to keep fish a long long time ago and never ever had problems with fish dieing, fro the guys in the uk,i been told not to buy from pets at home etc as there fish are not quarentined,so i get from my mate who owns...thefishhouse in coleraine and grosvner aquatics who they both have quarentine tanks and never let them go any earlier than a week ,were as pets at home let theres go as soon as they arrive in the shop etc

no the fish never really show any signs before they die etc

It's a lot of fish to add in two months.
Check your tap nitrate reading. As it very rare to have a reading of 0.
Still need to know how many fish of each you have as you could be overstocked.
Sorry for all the questions but we are only trying to help to find out what's going on with your tank. Why fish are dying.

What is the supplier PH/

Are they bala sharks. Red tailed sharks?

Hmmm not sure what the tap nitrate would be reading ive never tested it and know one ever mentioned that to me,is that some thing i should be doing.

red tail shark...albino shark 3 platys,2 mollies 2 silver dollars 1 clown 3 guppies 1 kisser,1 catfish

i let them climatise 1 hour and add a cup of my own water to the bags every 10 minutes

Some would of been trying to swim if they were on there sides then just died after it

My filter is breaking the water, and also have plenty of air bubbles for oxygen etc

have bog wood in the tank and just the normal plastic plants etc

red tail shark...albino shark  Can't keep them sharks together i'm afraid. So you will have to take one back.
Clown loaches shouldn't be kept in less than a group of 3.

Not sure about the silver dollars as I have never kept them. Not sure about the kisser fish either.

What type of catfish is it?

Adding a cup of water to the bag every ten minutes is to much. You should only add abit of water over a period of time.
Swimming on there sides can be swim bladder which can be due to not climatising properly.

That really is my reading of the nitrate it was checked yesterday,my friend told me to buy this white pouch and that you put it in the filter between the first white pad and the next sponge etc,i cant remember the name of the wee pouch, but apperantly its a well known thing in the U.S.

It's not a nitrate sponge is it.
Not to sure to be honest.

Start a thread in Tropical Discussion to see if your fish are compatible.
As the sharks are not. But not to sure on your other stocking like the silver dollars, or kisser.
Find out which cat fish you have too. Post a pic if you don't no.

Ok Wilder,i cant remember what catfish it is i will find out tomorrow as i have to go into my mates shop etc thanks for your help

Sorry i'm tired as I need to go to bed now. Not concentrating to well.

Good Luck.

My two thoughts are 1. overstocking or 2. incompatible tank mates.

But, that's just an initial thought as I don't know all that much about the tank as yet.

No worries tcamos, thanks,in what way would the fish react, behave etc by over stocking, all my fish all seem very placid and dont really chase or fight with each other,i never had these problems before when i kept fish a very very long time ago :)
