Diatoms And Green Spot Algae Problem

I set up my nano tank 1 month ago. Right now im having problems with algae. Will an otto do tue work for me or do I still have to clean it up myself?

Diatoms should go away in a few weeks. Common in new setups.
Green spot algae, is another matter. It must be removed manually.
As for algae control it's better to treat the cause/causes than the symptoms. Algae thrives on too much light and nutrients. Poor circulation and varying O2/CO2 levels also play a part.
Try reducing the photoperiod.
