Yes, I know oscars are destructive in their habits and like to rearrange a tanks landscaping. But mine (in a 100 gal mixed chiclid tank) has been attacking the tank itself (it is acrylic, not glass) resulting in multiple fine scratches, slowly destroyiong what was a fine aquarium. I can and will polish these out (requires the tank to be drained). Am currently considering offering oscar for adoption. Was wondering if anyone might possible have a solution to this destructive behavior? I suspect not, or wonder if a second oscar may help or worsen this issue.
Alsl if Oscar is asopted out, if anyone has a suggestion for a replacement species which may offer some of the personality traits of an oscar without destroying the tank surface.
Thanks

I think that by adding another Oscar it could possibly make the problem worse. Because by adding another full grown Oscar to a tank that already inhabits an Oscar will most likely cause fighting (unless you can find the perfect match in the opposite sex). If I were you I would probably set him up for adoption.
