This post was erased because of some vulgar language in the linked page... this link has no vulgarities :D

This cannot be good for the fish, I cant believe they can live upto 5 years in there and I'm also amazed the Japanese authorities don't think this is animal cruelty...

You can watch the video here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZH96MhITOlk)

What you guys think?

Reading further into that, I haven't been able to get an actual translation but it seems that the goldfish were only in there for demonstration purposes to show that it was actually water at the bottom of the fryer. Yes, that's still cruel, but no worse than keeping them in a bowl or feeding them to larger fish as people commonly do.

Apparently the video is actually a demonstration of a cooking oil that allows water to fall to the bottom rather than exploding. Anyone else see the demonstration where the guy stuck the ice cube in the hot oil? Defintely don't try that at home, I've done a lot of deep frying and even a little drop of water can send hot oil up in a geyser to the ceiling. The time in years seems to be the time it took to develop the new oil.

In my opinion I would rather feed them to large fish then have them in an environment that surely will affect their long term life.

Bleh.. I hope it was just a demonstration. I was wondering why he showed the oil being put into the pan (that exploded all over the place).. and then did the other demonstration with the icecube.

Wonder what they did with those goldfish though.
