Looks great Dave your tank will inspire me when I collect my roma 240 on Sunday. Let the fun begin

looking good mate. liking the scaping very simple but effective

Yeah looking great mate, whats the stock list? Like the substrate, which is it?

Cocomonkey i just really laughed at all your comments haha, first it was on the xmas list, now you're picking it up Sunday

The substrate is Unipac Limpopo Black Sand Even tho its black and white and it grains are bigger than normal sand but not quite gravel
the stocking list is way overstocked if they were adults but they are all young fish so waiting for the pairs to form the reduce numbers

4 angels (will cut down to 2 when a breeding pair forms)
2 bolivian rams (hopefully breeding pair but no  yet)
7 kribensis (1 pair and 5 fry, will be rehoming fry when of sexable age)
5 bristlenose plecs (4 brown 1 albino) (will cut these down when i get a breeding pair, but will be keeping the albino whatever happens)
5 gold barbs (great dithers for when the kribs have fry)
6 zebra danio's (gone off these so will be swapping for some cardinals, or giving them a way and getting cardinals)
5 cardinals ( will hopefully be making a bigger group in the near future prob 15-18)

I'm impatient lol. Daves tank is a fine example of what can be achieved. Roll on Sunday morning.

Good looking setup, plants look healthy. Are you using co2 injection or and plant fertilizers? If you need some substrate fertilizers send me a pm I have some spare.

Regarding the aquascape if it were mine I would add a few pieces of nice branchy type wood. Bogwood is ok but, for me, can look a bit cumbersome and unnatural in a fishtank unless you can get large good looking pieces. Look for redmoor and unipac wood online or at your lfs, this stuff can really 'make' a tank if used properly. Looks fantastic when used with plants as well. If you live near london there are a few lfs that sell this stuff.

im using tetra plantamin on watercahnges every 8 days when doing a 40-50% water change and added api root tabs into the substrate, will be adding a nice branchy piece of wood when i find the right one, to the right hand side of the tank just off centre, had a big clearout of any dodgy leaves just after the pic was took as the swords were stuggling a bit after the tank change but now the root tabs are in place they should soon take off again, i dont use Co2 and wont be doing soon, prefer to keep it low tech the plant doing the best is the rubrus sword i bought it as a plantling and its now about 8in (just to the left of the straight vallis), the most embarassing thing is i cant get camboba to grow in the tank so just buy a buch once a month and bin the old bunch

just a quick update with no pics till i get some good ones
well nearly everything is growing
all the plants are doing well paticularly the rubrus sword and the vallis, the vallis which was 1 plant is now 5 after sending out a mental runner which looked like something from "tremors", every time i shove it into the substrate it would send some leaves up and then out came another runner,
the standard swords have taked a beating and went like net curtains ????????
the twisted vallis is growing really well and is bright green
bouight some bacopa and just shoved it in the substate still in the the leaded buch and that has doubled in size in a week :hyper:
strangely my 3" male bolivian passed away the same day as a zebra danio (think he chocked on it)
the anges are growing like mad so are the baby kribs
all is peacfull at the min and my big male bn is hiding in a cave and protecting it well so just hoping one of the other 4 will turn out to be female
will try and get a full tank shot soon, but its looking a bit bare with the amazon swords been stripped down to nothing
just need to find a small tank now that will fit in the cupbooard under the tank now ready for the varous fry that will be hopefully be on the way sometime this year (angels, bolivians, kribs + bn's) sould be able to fit in something about 40-50 L
the wife now wants a biorb to finish of the hallway :grr: but not keen on them, but if she wishes i will have to find a nice tropical 1 and use it for the fry as a grow on tank till i can rehome them :good:

well its been a while since i was on here last as been busy with one thing and another, but the tanks doing well, the fish are all healthy only lost the molly and all buit 1 zebra danio which were going to go anyway, all the inmates appear to be getting along fine
so heres a few pics of it at the mo, sorry about the bits in the water but only fed them 5 mins before i took the photos and the pics arnt the best as they were took on my phone
