ok ok lol 18 mins isnt that long in the scheme of things i know but it seems loke a lifetime when ive either got masachistic (edit for spelling) danios snails or gouramis on the loose or just clumsy fish

It may be that they are injuring themselves while spawning. Things can get very rough and they try to squeeze themselves into tiny places to lay eggs. Have you seen them frantically chasing each other - not just zooming around as they do this anyway but really manic non stop? If so this may be why.

It may be your gourami as they can be quite grumpy but its unlikely. I keep zebra danios and a flame dwarf gourami and every now and again he will have a go at them but he hasnt harmed mine and they are far too quick for him! . I'd keep a close eye on it - you should spend time observing them anyway and you may spot the problem. It might be that they are starting developing some form of bacteria or ulcers. Read up on the various signs for diseases etc on this site.

Its been a lot of years ago for me but I do remember either Pearls or Blues being quite a bit more mean and agressive than Dwarf G's. Not to say its not the zebras themselves as they can be relentless too.
