Hi just had a danio die on me =[

ive had constant power cuts in the last 3 days with power going off for 5hrs+ on some occasions. temp normally 24C but has droped to 20C during long power outages. power came back and been on for a while only a 1hr outage today. Said mentioned danio was looking rather pale on and off for a few days. did a water test yesterday:

Ph was odly high at like 8
ammonia was 0
nitrite was 0
nitrate was between 10-20ppm

did a water change and a used some ph balancer

today went to feed and he was floating around and rolling upside down then he would try and swim and then stop and float more then did this for a while then ended up at the top upside down =[

worried about the other fish. any advice?

What was the Ph balance stuff you used?
Don't think the temp would have affected him too much as danios are best at around 20C (zebras and not too sure on others)

forget the ph balance stuff read the back ofthe bottle, its the tetraaqua easybalance, but reading the back it says "prevents dramatic reductions in PH" lol should realy read

just did another test to see what its like now after water change, ph is still same, ammonia and nitrite still 0 and nitrate down to around 5ppm

Hi i wouldn't use the PH controlling chemicals as they can mess up water quality. Also a steady PH is much better than a fluctuating one even if its not ideal. If you want a lower PH add some bog wood to the tank.
I dont think this was the cause of your danios illness but this sudden change in PH could have finished him off.
How old was the danio?
I would do a quite large water change and keep an eye on your other fish.
