Daily Tank Checks..

Evening all, came into my mind earlier this evening how many things i actually check in both my tanks daily, without really thinking about them..

Water temp; I have 3 different thermometers, i check all 3 twice a day.
Outlet flow; Each time i look at the tank really, speaks for itself.
Number of fish; I always have a little look around the bottom and surface of the tanks.
The filter itself; i run both hands around the seal and underneath the filter.
Lighting; i have a T5 light and some nightime LED's, i check both these once a day.

There are a few more weekly checks i carry out (mostly done at W/C time), plus a couple of monthly ones.. can anyone add anything that they pay particular attention to?

I just check every morning that they've all made it through the night and if any of the female livebearers look slimmer (then go on baby watch and wonder if I can catch them before they get eaten!). I fish out any bits of plant that have got detached and I check my heater light is coming on throughout the day and that my temp is looking okay - other than that it's just if something is looking amiss that the test kit comes out etc. Anything else waits until I do my weekly water change

Most of these things I just tend to do from time to time anyway, I don't generally make a point of doing them once a day.

My fish make themselves very difficult to count so I don't do that, but from time to time I do check the back of my tank where there's lots of plant cover to make sure there's not anything dead back there. I don't check my lights or filter, but I would notice soon enough if either of them wasn't working.

I pretty much have look around each tank when feeding for leaks/water, make sure none of the fish are acting odd thats my daily. TBF i spens about a good hour a day looking at the tank from the sofa instead of the tv so win win

impellers, flow, air pump, health, thermos, light unit, light, algae, is the glass clean? you name it!

Since I work from home and my 3 tanks are in my office, I check them constantly throughout the day. I make myself a little nuts occasionally and get less work done than I probably should, but they've really brought a joy to me.
