Hi Guys .
i am thinking about geting some D & D T5 Flourescent Tubes for my tank i was looking at getting two a

D & D T5 Midday 6000 Fluorescent Tubes
Rated at 6,000 Kelvin with a spectrum designed to recreate sunlight in both fresh and salt water aquariums.

and a

D & D T5 AquaFlora Fluorescent Tubes
This tube is specially designed for Freshwater use. It brings out the blue and red colours in your fish whilst enhancing plant growth

at the moment i am useing two plant pro T5 tubes but there on there way out so i was thinking about the D & D tubes i was wondering if anyone here has had them and just how good are they

No experience personally and I dont think ive seen them on the forum. I say go for it becuase D&D are good in there other products and it would be good to know someone who owns them and can truly say what theyre like. :good:

i think i must like been a Guinea pig :D anyway i went a head and got them .and i must say im very happy with them .they run much cooler than my plant pro T5 tubes . even the colours of the fish look so much better . so its a :good: for the D & D T5 Giesemann tubes

Hi
yes i got one of each .it says on the box of the Aqua Flora that its a white/violett. 5 band phosphor. with both of the tubes on it really brings out the colours of the fish

to me it kind of looks like a bright tri-plus

no problem mate .i think if you do end up buying them i think you will be very pleased with them .

Where did you get them from? By 5 band do you mean 5-phosphor? (not sure what the tri/3 version of 5 is!)

Hi
this is what the makers say about them

* All our tubes use an A1 phosphor blend which is imperative to maintain a five point light spectrum. This enables replication of natural light in your aquarium.
* Our T5’s with A1 phosphor blend gives up to 10% more light per watt (using 40% less electricity) than can be obtained from an HQI (with minimal radiant heat) keeping the tank cool in the summer.
* A tube Life of up to 15,000 hours.
* Much thinner tubes than normal fluorescent T8 Type.
* Our innovative A1 T5 lights are detailed below.

Right interesting, will see what else I can find on them :)

I guess if Giesemann are using them they cant be that bad! They are quite reasonably priced for T5's as well, certainly cheaper than Arcadia Plant pro T5's.

I take it you can use them on starters other than the DD Mega Twins?

Wicked, cheers for all that, will keep them in mind :)
