Cylinder Aquariums!

Hello!

Recently purchased a cylinder aquarium, and I was just wondering whether they should be treated any differently to "standard" aquariums when it comes to stocking. I think mine is only about 64cm wide, 110L all in all.

I've read that some fish require a fair amount of space to swim, and obviously cylinder aquariums don't give this length wise. I think my aquarium is 135cm high if this helps - at 29" gives me around 15 fish to play with, but i'm just conscience of the shape factor.

It should be able to handle a fair few small fish (1 inch size) who will not be as bothered by the shape, but what do you mean by 29 inches? 135cm is 53in.

What type of filtration have you got for it? What sort of setup (planted, or not, etc) are you thinking about?

is it a length ways or stood up
once had a stood up one i was 5 ft
tall i didn't keep it for long
couldn't keep many fish in it
cause the was not much surface area
and it was no good to maintain with it
been so tall

It's stood up...which is my main concern. There's not a lot to swim around...i'm only going to get 1 bottom feeder in, i'm more concerned about the middle and top part of the tank.

Kat - Sorry, worked out 110L to US Gallons is 29, and the general rule of thumb is 1" of fish to 1 US gallon no? - I will go with a few live plants but I don't want to overcrowd the bottom, so probably find something that is quite tall instead.
