Cycleing Problem

Ok, i want to start my cycle, and im going fishless. the problem is, that a week on sunday(22nd i think) im going away for seven days, then im back for three days...then im away again for 2 weeks....
could i add my ammonia now, and do everything that is needed now, then after i come back from my week away, test it all etc., and then wait for another 2 weeks until i can test, add ammonia etc.?

Do you think that would be ok?

If you're gone for a period of days, I'd just chuck in a few frozen prawns or something else meaty but not oily, and let nature take its course. Once decay sets in, there will be plenty of ammonium in the system, and the filter will be fine. Obviously remove these things once you start installing fishes!
