My lfs has just added a block of cube tanks to the freshwater section, shrimp, small rasboros, killifish snails ect, things for smaller tanks basically, and sitting there on the bottom of his tank looking very grumpy was a GIANT betta ( as in an actual giant not just big ) a pale silvery blueish colour with short fins ( can you get giant Plakats or could it have been a giant female? ) . He is at least the size of a big sailfin molly, about as long as my forefinger and deep in the body . He just cocked an eye at me and went back to sulking. I WANT HIM! Why fate??? WHHHHYYYYYYYY??

evry single giant I have seen in a lfs has been a short finned male.

Buy Him Now, He May be Giant or Half Giant. But if he is @ a normal Fighter price then Def Buy Him. The last time I saw a Half Giant in an LFS was 4 years ago and that was Pets at Home.

Prestwood. IHATEYOUNOW! He wasn't very active but he showed no visible/physical signs of illness. I suspect being in an approx 2 gal cube wasn't doing him a great deal of good either...I ddn't look at the price as I didn't want to depress myself if he was affordable for his size. Not being able to have him was bad enough. I wish I'd thought to take a picture though...

Don't Worry, HE will probably be snapped up by the 1st person who realises what he is. As the next time I could get there would be next saturday.
TBH I am suprised you never bought any of ben's fighters when he was selling up all his imported fighters last summer, he is not far from you.

I bet he will find a decent home. some kid or new fish person is going to take a look at him and say "I dont want him he dosnt have long pretty fins" Some decent person will see him, squeal and take the prize of the day home for themselfs.

giants are only avaiable local at the petco, and are around 14-16 bucks for black dragons and wild colors.

Hey guys, I went again today and they have ANOTHER giant as well as the first one. He's deep blue and equally as gorgeous.

I did look at the price this time, they're £8.99. I don't know how good that is for a giant but it seemed reasonable enough to me?. Mother was with me this time and althouh she agrees they are lovely, I'm still not allowed to have either of them
