The two rams together

So basically I started at 12.50pm and finished at 6.30pm  5hours 40mins...
First things first I started dismantling.
Then gave it a very good clean, including a 30-40% water change.
Took pics of the stuff I removed just to show how much was in the tank.
Left a super densely planted corner for the fish to calm down in.
Then I moved the anubias around on the wood and put the two pieces of wood up against eachother as a centerpiece.
Now I started replanting. This is the bit that took ageeessss.
I have added 3 or so species of Cryptocoryne, wasn't sure how to plant them....just sorta stuffed them into sand. Is that right?
I also planted half of my Amazon dwarf chain swords...then lost the will to live so gave up! Hehe.

Move all the baby snails into the tub which did have the plants in. Added some plant cuttings in with them, some moss etc. And they are now living on the window sill in the utility room.

So anyhoo, what do people think?
What would you change...
Any questions?

Looking really good stacey good job

i bet you are like me put a load of stuff in stand and look and think na then start again lol it ends up me taking 8/9 hours with the stepladders under me lol :good: :good:

I actually did. lol.

I must've sat for at least 10mins just staring at the bucket of plants. Sorta willing them to come alive and plant themselves.

My scaping talents aren't exactly amazing...
But I did my best. And it certainly looks better.

Ramble? Charmin' Remind me never to reply to any of your posts  :p

And thanks. I'm still not happy with it. But then I never ever am so there we are.
I'm looking forwards to it 'growing out'.

And I need to learn how to actually use our shiny new camera.
Panasonic TZ7 :D

 The damage is done :-( ... Until I forget or you post something interesting.

As you can see I'm really good at holding grudges...yep yep.

Myself, i would get some anubias and tie it to the wood just to the right of the cabomba as there seems to be a gap and it needs something to fill it. :p

Edit:

Actually, narrow leafed java fern would look better.

Oo nice idea. Thanks :good:

And I don't know if you can tell but there are some small java ferns attached at the apex of the two bits of wood. I'm hoping to get some sort of tree type structure going once it grows. :)

By the way...how the heck does Anubias attach itself to wood? I had to basically chisel it off to re-position it.

Does it seep some sort of glue or something from the roots? I was extremely surprised at just how attached it was.

I think I'll keep my eye out the in plants section for something nice to fill that gap with. I really want some more red/brown plants...it all looks a bit too green at the mo.

However I think some of the crypts I got today are Cryptocoryne parva (front left), Cryptocoryne Wendtii Brown (to the right of the right hand piece of wood) and Green (at the very right)
So I have got some new browy coloured plants once they're grown out a bit.

Really can't wait for the swords to grow...if I've planted them correctly  Basically I planted them with the darkest green bit pointing up.

hey! it looked great before and it looks awesome now, i actually just rescaped my tank, not nearly as dramatic as you did, but i think my tank looks alot better now... ill post pics in a bit..
