What draceana? From what I can see he has a lucky bamboo in there with the leaves out of the water - which is how they like it.

It's anacharis, same thing?

As far as I know anacharis IS an aquatic plant and should be fine. I'm no plant expert, however, so hopefully one will show up.

I was talking about the plant that is sticking out of the water. That's bamboo, istn't it?
Oh yes, the bamboo! It's fine in there. I have bamboo in plenty of my tanks.. and the bamboo have been in each tank for as long as 3 years!
No problems.. As to.. I do 25% water changes every week!

the plant is draceana slanderiana -it is a tropical woody shrub that prefers to be grown in dirt! I have many! Some of witch 5-6 feet tall and have flowered for me!

keeping one in an aquarium is not fair because it WILL eventually rot, i would say it is kinda the same torture as keeping a betta in a tiny unheated bowl!

Well thanks!

But I will keep it in there. My pH levels never stray.. And as mentioned earlier.. I have the lucky bamboo in all of my tanks.

Congrats on the fry! That male is something else, he is absolutely incredible!!! Is he the father?
Thank you!!

No... I couldn't make that guy wrap with my female CT : /

The father is...him!

anacharis and bamboo are not the same thing...and comparing misplanting and torturing a fish are so completely different...made me laugh :)

it is not completely different if you think about it!!

keeping a fish in an unheated, unfiltered, tiny tank,or keeping a NON-AQUATIC PLANT in water preventing full growth!! torture to the plant!!! plants are living things too!!

Draceana sanderiana are TERRESTRIALS!! they grow in DIRT!!!

i honestly BEG TO DIFFER.

You cannot argue with 3 years of experience and my dad being a breeder also?

We have these lucky bamboo all over the place.

And my house is kept at a constant temperature of 78F.
With 25% water changes every week.

AND when these plants do get too big for the tank.. I tank them out and put them in this pot of vitamin enriched water... It goes in the green room in the back.

So please do not fuss with me about it please?

And do not assume that I am inhumane... Cause I'm not.

Thanks!
I know I'm not.

I only have a few bettas that I purchased with the intentions of breeding.

But all the others.. All 14 of them... Are rescues :]
