Crazy Gourami

I have a three spot gourami that occsionaly has crazy mad episodes. It went beserk the other night, swam round the tank at 100MPH, crashed into the glass several times and then sunk to the bottom of the tank and lay there curled up and twitching. I thought he was a goner, but ten minutes later he was swimming around like nothing had happened. Any ideas?

One of my Platys did this for a while, it's back end was sinkings, and it was trying to float, then for a 1 miinute burst of activity, it was swimming at full speed into the tank sides etc a few times an hour. It was then stopping to rest, I think it exhausted itself and then promptly died.

Brain damaged by parasites?

it might be a water quality thing what are your water stats please

I had exactly the same thing happen to me with my female golden gourami,she did this regularly for a few months then passed away,never did find out what it was.
