I found a 90 gal tank with stand needs to be resealed no big deal that can be done. But the black frame around the tank is cracked. I thought that black frame was more for show and protection.. Once sealed do you think that cracked frame will be a problem?

The frame is a structural member. You can get replacements at a pretty reasonable price. Check to see if there is a tag at the bottom of the tank, this will tell you who made it. Find a shop selling that brand, have them order you a top frame.

On a typical 90 gallon, there should be a top center brace too. It is there to keep the glass from bowing out too much. I have a 6 foot tank that a former owner removed the frame from. Until I put a new frame around the top with braces across the top, the center of that half inch thick glass bowed out over an inch and I was afraid of the tank breaking. Now I happily sit in front of it typing away on my keyboard with not a worry about it giving way. I have a brace at the 2 foot and the 4 foot points so the glass stays straight on the front and the back.
