I have a large, clear, plastic "cave" in my fishtank and it isnt very attractive. It is very smooth so i doubt i can cover it with java moss. Also the tank isnt gret for plants (it doesnt have a real light lol)

Is there anything i can use to cover the cave? its about 12"x6" so pretty big. :good:

use some material from a haberdashery store. Wash it well first and then glue it on with aquarium silicon. You can also cut strips of it and stick them on making it look like vallis or reedy plants. Most materials are fine but poly cotton blends last longest under water.

cool, but what is a haberdashery store?

noo, all of that is going in the 35gal.

a shop that sells material so people can make their own clothing. Ask your mum, most mums know where the local one is.

Why don't you just buy a natural looking cave?

Im completely skint, and the cave needs to support a 3gal tank on top of it, so it needs a flat roof and needs to be large. there isnt anything like that lol

I'd position or even glue (aquarium-safe) large rocks (slate or a flat rock would be ideal) to it.

good idea chibi

Below is a coconut cave which can be covered With Riccia or Java Moss.
Cover your cave with a ladys hairnet and place the plant (whichever you choose) under the netting. Pretty soon the plant will take over and disguise the cave.
