Coustic

I work in a manufacturing/production plant and ive asked around if we keep any ammonia on site (bearing in mind i have no idea what thats made up of) but have been told the closest thing to it we have is 'coustic' - sulphric acid. im thinking it might not be what i want but hey, doesnt hurt to ask

You mean for cycling? then no coustic(?) or sulfuric acid will not work for that. You will need ammonia.

A bottle of ammonia is not that dear about £2.50 a bottle, why don't you buy some!!That way you know exactly what you are getting,ammonia with no additives.Follow the link below to see the product.

If you are UK based then you may wish to try Boots or Robert Dyas. A 3 quid bottle will last you years given the tiny amounts needed to cycle your tank (complete cycle and ready for fish in 10 days).

Ditto, one of the cheapest bits of essential kit in fishkeeping. Not worth even talking about incase someone gets the wrong idea and actually tries it
