I have just added 4 corys to my planted aquarium. I thought they would be fine, but already they are kicking up dirt!

Are they generally fine in a planted aquarium that has a 'grass' base?

yeh i know that! I have a few already in my non-planted tank....but there is a difference between kicking up dirt and disturbing my plants. :p

So are they normally ok with plants?

Mine occasionally disturb newly planted ones, but otherwise have been fine.

mine killed off my HC Cuba and Glosso - just wouldn't stay planted. They're fine with hairgrasses, riccia, chain swords and all other plants in my tank.

The trick with smaller plants, especially those used in foregrounds, is to plant the tank and then let the plants establish roots before you add any of the bottom feeders. This will normally prevent uprooting due to rooting around in the substrate.

Sounds promising....My grass has been in for about a month now, so hopefully they will not cause to much damage :)
