Hi, I have a 30g tank which houses my bronze and sterbai corydoras.

The largest bronze cory who is about 6cm always comes up to the top to breathe, I have noticed it doing it a lot more frequently in the last few week, I know this is normal behaviour for cories, but not when they are doing it non stop for the 30 mins that I monitored it right?

Is this a sign of lack of oxygen in the tank? I am using a hang on filter and have no water pump in the tank.

Thanks

Higher temperatures mean less available oxygen in the water. In your other post you were talking about pushing the temperature higher than is good for your aeneus. You might want to drop the temperature a bit instead. Sorry I didn't spot this post first.

Ditto what oldman47 said.

Also, you don't get a lot of agitation from a HOB filter so stick in an air stone and crank it up to get the surface water moving. In my main tank I took off the stone and just let raw air into the tank. That really stirs up the surface.
