Cory With Bloodworm Stuck In Its Gill !

i just put some bloodworm in my tank, ive been doing this since ive had a fish tank with cories in, and they never shew any interest.

now one of them has tried to have one and has obviously tried to sift it like it does sand, but its stuck in its gill !! its in no obvious signs of discomfort, just sitting like corys normally do.

what should i do ? leave it to work its way out ?

EDIT - erm, well. in th time it took me to rush downstairs and write the above and go back upstairs, its somehow dislodged it and is now sucking on it normally. ive never seen a cory go for bloodworm, yet now ive got 3 chowing down on them. is this normal ? with panic over, what woudl i do if this was to happen and the fish couldnt sort it out itself ?

It should come out eventually, I have had quite a few of my fish end up with bloodworm sticking out of their gills, mainly with my lot they are trying to eat too fast.

Ditto that, mine regularly spit it out through their gills before they're used to eat worms or if they're eating fast. Eventually they grasp the idea though.

Don't worry, mine do it all the time.

Also my cory's go NUTS for bloodworm and artemia.

hi sorry for the late reply. yeah the bloodowrm was dislodged almost instantly, then quickly gobbled up. it was quite a shock to me because A, i'd not seen them eat them and B, it was hanging out of its gill hasnt happened since though, perhaps it learned him.

You could always chop the bloodworms up abit so there easy to eat.
Food can get stuck in the gills.
