Cory Acting Very Strange

Ok, im new to this so bare with me.

My parents purchased 3 cory yesterday fo rthere new tank and one of them is behaving very oddly, it keeps swimming round in circles and doing back flipos all the time and then will swim to the top of the tank and drop back down and land on the floor like he is dead and after a couple of minutes will get up and repeat this behaviour again.

If anyon ehas any knowledge on the problem please can you post and help me out

Cory will often dash to the surface for a gulp of air and then sink to the bottom where they spend 99% of their time.

Just to be on the safe side test your water for ammonia and nitrite with a liquid test kit (preferably API) or take a sample to your LFS

amonia and nitrate and stuff is fine!

i have corys in my two other tanks and they gulp air all the time but its the back flipping and the playing dead all the time that is worrying me.

I ask as you say you are new to this......define ammonia/nitrite is fine?

Can you post the exact readings?

Yes, agree with dorsey et.al. as the local fish shops will sometimes say "fine" when, unfortunately, all is not well in the kingdom.
