I've Just bought some female bettas (both 2 cm long) and am thinking of breeding them, I bred Guppies a long time ago and want to have a go at these, how big/old do they have to be for them to start producing eggs and water parameters for breeding?

I would reccomend that for the next few months or so, if your serious about breeding bettas then you research research and more research

Ditto on what Lilfishie said.

When you are prepared with a tank set up and ready to condition (the entire process of tank setting up and preparing fish for breeding can take weeks) you can start feeding them a high protein diet, Such as Bloodworms or Daphnia.

Theres also the fry to think about if the spawn is successful, but thats another chapter. For now read up on all the things you want to know and should know to breed them. Good luck and I hope all goes well!
