I will, just to confirm angels need 27 degrees which is fine for fm's but is it gd for gouramis? only eva kept 1 golden gourami (i loved it so) a little tired dont feel like researching sorry . i think i will go for bleeding heart tetras or rummy nose tetras il make my choice later (il probz pick the BH tetras

Well, if you're too tired to do a bit of research, get a good night's sleep, then do the research, THEN buy the fish.

I think the bleeding hearts will be better. They get bigger and have a wider body, which would make me feel safer about the firemouths, which will eat fish they can fit in their mouth.

And yes, the pearl gouramis will be fine in 27 degrees.

yippeee this tank setup so far seems excellent, a real gd tank to gaze at mate I think i'll goto bed now, just post on the forum if u have any outstanding ideas

What I'm thinking about for this is:
2 Firemouths
4-8 Angelfish (could use an angelfish person out there to tell what number a group should be)
8-12 bleeding heart tetras (depending on the size of the angelfish group)
1 Rainbow shark
x bristlenose pleco? (if you want an algae eating fish of sorts, dunno if the shark will act aggressively towards it)

I heard rainbow and RTBS can be aggressive . I've never kept them as they really don't appeal to me. But you might be able to fit in some raphael catfish or corydoras if the shark won't attack them.

I found Rainbow sharks (i have one currently) to be a gentle fish as long as they are the only one in the tank, RTBS however are nasty at times.

My convict is gentle when she's the only one in the tank too

But I'm assuming you meant the only one of their species

Do you have an idea of how many angels he should keep in the tank?

apparently they need up to 50cm hight of the tank, have 45.6 I recon I can keep one in that just squeeze em, but they also say they need 70L, in which I have 250L that turns it up 6 maybe 7 (or doubtably 8)

Your height seems fine to me. I'd say keep them in nothing less than 16 inches. But preferable 18+.

Excellent information. You really can never do too much research before subjecting your fish to the conditions you make for them. And another little hint is to remember that you need to consider the size the fish will be when it's all grown up, not just the size you get it at the LFS. That cute little common pleco you pick up will eventually grow to be 2 feet long.

Sadly I learned this lesson, It is why I do not have a red tailed catfish

Just got 6 assorted angels they look great in the tank, plus their shoaling!! I ordered the blleding heart tetras and I move my firemouths to the 250L

No no more because when they grow, your tank will be cramped! it might look empty for now because they are all small, but give it 12 months and it will be packed
