i have a convict cichlids and seven tiger barbs in a 20 gal tank, small i know. but this thing has two 20 gallon filters in it and the water is pristine. i was wondering if i could add some cory cats?

Definitely not considering the convict cichlid shouldn't even be in there as it will outgrow...

yep, you need to move those convicts to a bigger tank. They are also ridiculously aggressive so I wouldn't put anything else in with them.

Agreed. Stocking is not just about the quality of the water. You also have to consider the 'comfort' of the fish; they need room to behave naturally and grow.

I keep tiger barbs, and cories ar not suitable tank mates, even if you do move the convict out (which you should as a matter of priority). They're just too boisterous and, even if they don't actually nip the cories, they tend to keep them from coming out, apart from to feed.

mine is really wierd for a cichlid, its very shy and timid, its more bullied by other fish. ive never seen it bully any other fish in the aquarium. ive had it for 2 years, it used to be in a 40 gallon, but its only 4 inches long, so i figured it would be fine in the 20 long.

Dont convicts get 6 to 7 inches long? Pretty big for a 20 gallon tank?
