Community Fish Tank

Hi

I am going to set a community tank in a 125l tank and just after some advice.

I was thinking of tetras, danios and corys for the bottom.

My centre piece is going to be a Dwarf Guarmi or hopefully 3.

How many fish can I have in this size tank.

I have tried the calculators but I am confused .

well! dwarf gouramis should really be kept in a group of 3 or 4
and to be honest i dont know how many gallons that is... i think it is either 30 gallon or 50 gallon i just cant remember sorry! but i think in a 30 gallon you could easily have that amount of fish let alone a 50!

Dwarf gourami are notoriously sickly and don't really stand a chance until the tank is mature (i.e running for at least 6 months.)

Danios, tetras and corys all need to be kept in minimum groups of 6 - depending on what flavour tetra you go for you could probably get away with more than 6. Is your heart set on dwarf gourami? If not a Bolivian Ram pair would make a good centre piece. How does this look:

Pair Bolivian Rams
6 Zebra danios
8-10 Cardinal tetras
6 corys (just about any flavour will be fine, but I personally love Pandas.)

If you're going for corys I'd go with a sand substrate.

The tank is 30g and I'd say you'd be starting to push it with a few guppies and you'd most certainly need to add them slowly, bolivian rams are quite easy to keep and are more forgiving then the blue rams you more commonly see which tend to be quite fragile from what i've heard
