I have just added two clown loaches to my recently started 48x15x15 inch tank, one of them is acting just as a normal clown busy searching out food and places where it can hide, the other one has joined my 6 strong shoal of tiger barbs he seems very confused he will swim with the tigers until he spots the other clown then he swims over to him spends a short while with him then it's as though he gets fed up with his brother and he rejoins the tigers I have kept fish or many years and they never stop amazing me, I doubt they ever will. someone once told me that fish keeping was a nice calming hobby! They forgot to mention they contain more sex, violence and high drama than any soap opera, keep on keeping em. What strange things go on in your tanks?

Hi Bob

Clown loaches are sociable fish, known to thrive better (and live longer) when kept in groups of 4 or more, so your clown who is hanging out with the tiger barbs could just be looking for that "group" company he desires. Possibly because the tigers resemble clowns a bit with their colouration and stripes he could just be confused into thinking they are other clowns LOL  Maybe his eyesight isn't too clear eh?

My cichlid tank is the one that keeps me glued to it for hours. Honestly, it's much more fun than watching the soaps on TV - although the storylines are much the same - lots of bickering/fighting/showing off/sulking/high speed chases/kiss n making-up/divorce/baby-making... I think you get the gist of what I mean LOL
