yhbae, try asking lateral in the cyprinids and characins forum. That's where he hangs out I think. You'll have more luck.

ich can and will kill your wish or lower their immune system so much that they become suspectible to other stronger diseases. If caught early and treated properly you'll most likely be able to pull through it.

Btw, don't stop treating even when you dont' see the white psots, they are still there -_- keep treating for at least a week or two after you see all white spots go away.

ok I'll do that, I know that they also have a free-swimming stage and I want to get rid of them completely.

I am also considering putting a few clown loaches into a new 4ft tank which has been cycling for 5 days now.

During my research I've read that clown loaches are scaleless fish and very susceptible to ich and you should probably use only half the recommended amount of meds and definately meds with NO COPPER. But I expect you know this already.

Keep posting David, it's vey interesting and I will be guided by your experences.

Yes of course there is no copper in my meds. The clowns are looking better by the hour :D

I got 3 myself not long ago
Here's two of them:

Hurry up and get a camera so we can see yours :D

IME ich is not fatal, just common. I have had ich a few times and I have never lost a fish from it. Depening on the fish it can be treated without meds but I find that the interpet range works very well.

HTH

Oh, and I would not put 3 (the smallest group they should be kept in) clown loaches in anything (for the whole time, if you are upgrading it's different) less that 70US gallons.

I have 4 in 84US gallons and I don't think I can think of that as permanent.

Beautiful fish David.

My 4ft tank is still in fishless cycle mode (HURRY UP TANK!) and I can't wait to get clowns in it.

PM me and tell me all aout them : How long have you had them, how big they were when you got them, how big are they now, etc. EVERYTHING!

Hehe, those aren't mine they are aqauscapers, although mine look a lot like that. If you don't count the ugly ich infestation of course. I have administered the 3rd dose of medecine, and the ich has still not cleared up, even though the clowns look completely active and happy. What is wrong? How long does it take for the ich to clear up?
