I have 2 clowns and the biggiest has been acting strangely for the last day. When the light is off he swims up and down the side of the tank eradically and seems stressed. All the other fish are acting ok though. My friend gave me a 6 in dried starfish that I washed and put in the tank, can that cause a problem? I also did a vineger test on it which was negative.

PH: 7.1
Temp: 78 degrees
Added amonia detoxifier, Amquel. (During my water change, like I always do.)
Wondering if that star fish can cause a problem in my tank.

Thanks for any info.

I was hoping someone with more information would come along -_-

I'd take it out, I can't give a good reason but it seems like it would have LOTS of chemicals on it, or it could start to soften up and rot in your tank  ,plus it's saltwater creatures in freshwater and sheeesh I dunno, could be a disaster in the making

How long has it been in there?

Yes, take the starfish out to be safe. Dried or real.

As for the clown loach, platypus is the leader of that. :D

Ok well I took it out of the tank and did a 25% water change just incase. No more of doing stupid things like that again.
