Clown Loach Flicking

Esha exit ok. Mainly good if the fish also have bacterial infections as you can use it with esha 2000.

Some meds don't work to well with light. So it best to black the tank out.

As for onion plants no I have never grown them.

Onion plants are great really tall and cover the water surface when they reach it my betta loves it,ive put black bags round the whole tank its pitch black in there i will give the fish an hour each day, they need some light dont they, should i run the med for a third round if they still flick, and will the gold dust rust stuff go because the platy still looks rusty!!!cheers

Velvet far worse than whitespot and harder to get rid of.
What the temp of the tank.

Are you using the full dose of velvet med.

The temp is 28•c,im treatin the tank at dosage for 165 ltr cos theres lots of gravel so its pretty much full dose, are u saying that velvet is pretty much indesructable,i might just give up if i cant get rid of the velvet,i rekon fish will always get ill cos they arnt supposed to be kept in glass prisons,

I just put dose 3 in and instanly a few clowns my biggest started scrapeing and flickin very hard is this reaction to med rather than discomfort from the velvet?i will make this the last coarse of protazin.

Good link to velvet.

Perhaps a glimmer of light, pardon the pun, today i uncovered the tank to let 30 mins of daylight in and all clowns were very active and couldnt see a flick in sight, inprovement! Or just happy to see light!!,i fed a small amount and covered the tank to darkness again, will check on fish again tommoro,.

Sounds more promising.
Keep the thread updated if you don't mind.

U think anyone has ever filmed clown loach in their own habbitat,be interesting to see

Try a search on the net. You might find something.

Done a 10% wc b4 final dose of round two tomorro, fish looked ok couldnt really see any flick, fed small amount and put tank back to darkness.how long should i leave tank black, day after final dose!,will all the fish be affected by velvet or only stressed fish,or if the velvet is stong enough will it atack all fish or just stressed ones!

Soak there food in garlic juice as it meant to boost the fish immune system.
Also parasites don't like garlic.

Not all fish will show symtoms of velvet.
It can affect weaker fish first.

Leave the tank blacked out till you completely finished the med.

Let me know how you get on if you don;t mind.
Good Luck.

Just put final dose in and fed a little, fish looked ok two smallest clowns was buzzin around really fast, some of the food i feed has imao supplement which boosts emune system and clowns love it cos it fits in their mouth so they just grab it and bomb off,i do feed about 6 foods + vegetables, when i first got clowns about 9 month ago they were all tiny but now the big one is like 4 1/2 5 inch and nice and fat, will post tomorro

Got a mini maglite to look at fish in darkness to check for rust,my molly is almost gold on both flanks this is the velvet isint it.all others including the platty apear to have no rusty stuff now, does this mean its gone, will switch lights on and carry on with normal maintence tommoro
