Clown Loach Flicking

How big are the clown loaches as the tanks to small for 8 of them.

What test kit are you using.

Signs of flukes are.
Opaque body with excess slime.
Red inflamed gills, or pale gills with excess slime.
Flicking and rubbing.
Darting, erratic swimming.
Laboured breathing, or gasping.
Sores on the body of the fish.
Weight loss.
Spitting food out.
Swimming in a jerky movement.

Where've you been hiding? :)

it best to go in with half dose with sensitive fish.

Is the film on the fish a greyish white.
Velvet will sometimes look like a dusting of talc on a fish.

The biggest clown is white ish with grey ish stripes acts normal ish it hides alot but eats well and swims in the powerhead sometimes as the rest do,i have this platty in there and on his jet black sides is a clear dusting of brown ish gold, which makes me think velvet.as the sterazin fluke med dident work.im scatchin my head a bit.should av just kept guppies or summit as clowns are very sensitive which my local fs failed to inform me dint even ask what tank.should be a law on who can buy these wonderfull fish, think how many millions have died by keepers who dont have a clue anyway im goin on a bit, please reply!

The fish have velvet then if the platy has a rusty coloured varnish.
Sterazin for flukes.
Remove the med and treat with protozin.
Velvet worse than whitespot, and harder to get rid of.

Yeah mate platy got like rusty covering u say its harder than whitespot thats bleak, can the clowns be affected bad by this as they are scaleless,im using carbon and doin wc of 15 % will use protazin on saterday i think yeah.will use 3/4 dose as this been goin on for some time

Clown loaches do have scales, there very small so you don't notice them. The only area they don't have scales is the head region.

I would recommend another water change before you add the med.

Will do,do u think if i leave the lights off while treatin would be benaficial and should i use the protazin untill im sure velvet is controlled at a safe dose ofcourse, could be two or three weeks though couldnt it,as im sure this has been in the tank for some months now

Added protAzin after wc today, been watchin clowns and was amazed to see a mass fight between 6 or so clowns they had all turned really gray and eyes were really clear like they were concentraitin hard, after a couple hours all was quite ish,is this a good sighn maybe reaction to med?! Dunno.

Typical post water change behaviour for clowns really :good:
