No, it's not slang any more than 7hi5 '//4z when I was 14.

Try asking in the oddball section. If nmonks reads your post, he knows his stuff on knife fish. What I know about them, you'd be looking at big, robust fish - I'd stay away from gouramis, but the others you mention would probably be ok. Bala sharks prefer a bigger group than two, so there's a starting point.

people aren't gonna answer your questions if they can't understand them,

what size are the clown knifes?
when is the tank upgrade planned?

Clown knives get HUGE. If you are going to have 2 of them, you will need a bigger tank. As far as what you can keep with them, you can keep large fish with them. Clown knives are predatory fish and will eat anything they can fit in their mouths. An adult clown knife will be able to eat most gouramis so those are out. As stated bala sharks will be fine with them, but you need more of them. You might want to look into bichirs, larger new world cichlids, tinfoil barbs, etc.

I think those gouramis should be ok, seeing as they are a form of Giant Gourami,

Love to know how a kid is going to afford the upgrade required to house 2 20inch Gouramis and 2 36inch Clown knifes

the clownknife fish is only 2 baby-they are 10-15 cm long

yes but fish do this funny thing called grow and seeing as you have 4 tankbusters your gonna need a pretty big tank, even if it won't be for another year or so.

edit: are your red Gouramis actually giants or are they indeed dwarfs or honeys?

Red Line Torpedo Barbs should be fine with a Clown Knife, Jules H-T had 5 Red Lines with his Black Ghost Knife

Clown Knifes are very different to Black Ghost Knifes, apart from the fact clowns grow to over double the size of the BGK (40inches+ compared to 18inches+, they are bullyish predators that would have no trouble ripping through a shoal of slim, torpedo barbs.

i meant they are 2 red gwarf gourami so i putted them in ma 12G

In that case you where correct drobbyb, I was thinking of the red tailed Gourami which is much bigger and a more suitable tankmate.

red dwarf gouramis with a clown knife? what were you thinking?

ok to answer the original question, I would be keeping things like Dats, or an arowana, or Big peaceful Cichlids such as Uara and Severums, or Large shoaling species like Silver Dollars or Bichirs
