Are these OK in community tanks?
I like the look of clown killifish... Do they need to be in groups?

So far Ill be having cardinals, guppys, corys and 2 plecs.

Thanks.

These are only a small killi and whay you have they will be fine with.

But they dont mix with any fish thats a bully so u do have to be carefull.

Agree Lovely fish, but very timid and prone to jumping alot.

Are they readily available? I dont think I ever noticed them before in fish shops etc.

Do they need to be in groups then?

Thanks for the help :good:

Hi Catherine,
Ps. annulatus are not too common in shops but do crop up from time to time.
One male to two females would be the best ratio. The males tend to be a bit scrappy towards each other, but nothing really becomes of it. Males will flare and posture and will develop a definate pecking order.
They can be kept sucessfully in community aquariums with other small species and I would give them some cover by using some floating plant such as Salvinia.
The guppies would be my only worry as they might possibly harass them.
Regards
BigC
