Can I just point out that I did say the costs I quoted were for UK, which is much more expensive than the US (evidently, from the prices you're quoting). You can't even buy much of the cheaper equipment you list! And don't forget - its a bloody long way from the nearest tropical reef to UK. Everything has to be flown in.

But the point of my post was to remind people that marine tanks are very expensive (compared to fresh water). Especially if you live in UK.

It depends on whether you are going to want to pay extra for a mated pair.
