as you prob know i set it up using some water that came with it 3 days ago, its gone cloudy which i was expecting, and thankfully tests are
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 10

i have a fluval 4+ running and have added another fluval 4+ stuffed with only filter floss to try to help, should i do water changes or just leave it to clear by itself, i have stuffed the tank with real plants and the fake ones that i already had in there today , also i have the filters within an inch of each other is this ok??

thanks shelagh xx

Wouldnt have thought having the filters so close together would do any harm.

If its just a bacteria bloom, it will settle on its on, as Im sure you know, if the stats change then yes do water changes. Are the fish in there Shelagh?

yes they are lol, they are all behind the plants,in the pic thers a silver dollar 2 balas and an albino shark, all the rest are on a t break

thankyou, i only asked as i had this problem with Jambos tank and the more water changes i did the worse it got, so just checking that it was perfectly ok to leave well alone

Bless did you scare em all? LOL. Put Jambo in there, that will get them swimming around quickly LOL.

I assume you used some of your filter media or the media that came with the tank? Should be fine, you get any spikes then its time for w/c, it will probably clear in a day or two.

the filter that came with them was still wet and managed to survive the journey,( the guy stopped it from running minuites before packing it up) so i was really glad of that as i didnt want these to get ill.
Jambo would have a field day in there , thankfully he dosent even know there in the house, tho i do feel guilty so i am going to treat him to a major tank make over tommorow, new plants and toys :)

i get sadder with each day

Why do you feel quilty? Are you spending too much time looking in the new tank - how mean of you LOL.

Treat him to a tank makeover - you know he wont thank you for it :)

hmmm you are probably right, ill give hima new stick and tell him how special it is, no i feel guilty as this tank looks good but will look better when its cleared, his looks awful  some new plants will cheer him up ( or make me feel less guilty)

Oh yeah, some nice new plants that he can pull out, rip apart and destroy will make him feel much better LOL.
