Cloning Filter Media

I've cloned filter media before but today I have done this and put the media into a tank that won't have a fish (a baby betta) until Wednesday morning. Do I need to move some fish in there for now, to feed the bacteria? Or will it be enough to add a little food to decay? The media has been in my external, mature filter for the last month or so and it should be fully colonised!

4 guppies are now living there, should be enough I think
