ive just taken delivery of a food grade waterbutt, its previously been used the transport olives and is obviously going to have to be cleaned out and sterilised.

how do i best do this?

i have a powerwasher, i have sterilising fluid or tablets at hand and was thinking of dry wiping the inside of the barrel first to take away as much lose residue as possible.

any advice welcomed.

regards

Never done it but i would powerwash thoroughly then fill with tapwater and steriliser. Leave it for 24hrs and drain before another flush with tapwater and then dry as best you can. First fill of RO maybe add some basic de-chlorinator if it was a chlorine based steriliser?

I'd climb inside and lick it, every inch of that yummy olive oil coating. splurp splurp
