Well, I've got a bucket from my work that I want to use for my aquariums. It used to hold Canola Oil however. I was wondering if just a good soak in hot water and a scrub after, followed by a rinse would be enough to make it safe to use.

If not can anybody recommend a way to clean the bucket as I can get about 12 more for free.

Edit---> They are 5 gallon buckets

buckets cost 99p

i wouldnt risk using anything that had held something else for my fish... incidently i have no idea what canola oil is

5 gallon buckets where I live (Canada) cost $5 each. I'm 22 I don't got that kind of money lol I got college payments ^_^ and Canola Oil is a type of oil used for deep frying, not as healthy as Vegetable oil, but better than peanut oil.

Should be fine, it's not like it's going to be toxic (either the oil or the plastic) so as long as it's properly washed I can't see any problems.
