Clare's Small Tank Journal!

I love seeing peoples tank journals and yours will look great. Certainly keep us updated, can't wait to see the end result! :good:

Ok so with the hang on filter the lid I have just isn't going to cut it so I'm going to DIY one for it. I mean how hard can it be??!
So I'm going to town tomorrow to get some stuff to do it with and I'll document that too. I got a small bit of mopani thats soaking for my tank too and I've got a plastic tube and stuck gravel round it.

Ok so I think I've made the original lid work with everything but guess I won't know until I turn everything on and get it going. I got my plants and nerite snail in the post this morning they're currently bobbing around in my 30G. Hopefully my filter material should be colonised after a week so I'm going to start my aquascaping tomorrow if I can get that wood to stop leaching!

Here's hoping all goes well I'll get some piccies up tonight or tomorrow of progress and design! xx

Ok so the plants went went in yesterday as did khuli loaches. They seem to be still settling in. The black ones have been flitting around a bit but I haven't seen the striped or panda since they went in.
Here's some more pics.

Tank with tube and pot cave in.

Wood cost me £2.50 at my LFS bargain I thought!

Wood went in and a little water. One end keeps trying to float even though it's been soaking for ages so it's been weighed down with a pebble til it's completely waterlogged!

Then I filled tank up and started planting. End result looks a bit like this.

Andy
ps were did u order your supplies??? :good: :good:

I got my plants and a nerite snail from aquaessentials. I orderered 3 Vallis nana and in each poit got about 10-15 pieces so only used 2 in this tank.
The silicone I already had from ebay and the gravel and sand I had from previous tank decoration. The eheim fillter cost me about £12 (incl P&P) from zooplus.com bargain I thought and the heater, light and background were from ebay too.
Think I spent about £20-25 on supplies and £30 on plants.

I went and got some more fish to liven up the new look tank and came back with 4 of the prettiest Guppy boys I could get my hands on. Although they're very fidgety and difficult to photograph.

I also got a couple of peppered cory but they're so small I'm worried my featherfin might eat them so they're growing out in here til they're big enough for the 30G.
