Hi, went to check out a new shop in town today and they had a couple nice fish in.

Among them was one labeled as a Chubby Plec - I didnt ask much as I initially assumed it wasnt the one that turned gold but after a bit of googling I think it might have been...

So just looking for advice really on what they are like in a tank and also what you think a good price for them would be?

Thanks :) I had found a few of those threads already.

After doing a bit of reading Im not so sure anymore... not sure if I like it just because they are a little rare... also no garuntee the grey one will go gold either...

We have loads of them at work :)

They are really messy but typical plec for you! They seem about as difficult to keep as bristlenose :p

They seem to be happy to eat anything even when newly imported (unlike the blasted golden nuggets), Eating greenery like cucumber, courgette etc and NovoTabs (meatier tablets). Had the occasional munch on algae wafers but not found any they really like yet.

They are doing some serious chowing on the bogwood as well! Seriously chomping on it!

Have also found they are starting to get really aggressive with each other, even now i have found a male and a female (the female was definately gravid) in seperating from the third one, the one i think is the male nearly killed the one i am sure is female.

Looking at all the others, they really are roug with each other. Personally i'd not keep more than one but they dont seem to bother other fish at all and are happy doing their own thing.
